Thought I'd got away with it,

Had a lot of building work done last autumn, including a new driveway, so van was stored at mum in laws, thing is had it serviced just before we packed it away, but the water system wasn't drained down properly afterwards (my fault, if it was on my drive it would have been done), so filling it up to test, and water all under the front beds. Stripping it down i have found that the O ring on the immersion heater for the truma ultrastore had popped out. So much stripping out furniture and drying out, hopefully normal service will be resumed. I am normally really fastidious about these things, but with the upheaval of the building work it got left, couldn't have been more than a couple of lites in the system. And going away this weekend, Oh well live and learn

Update on this

Van is drying out nicely, but a warning to anyone who has an ultrastore water heater. What has happened is the freezing has caused a slight warp on the electric immersion heater head, and there is only a flimsy little o ring to keep all the water in the tank, also with the constant heating and cooling the tiny nuts can  (and did) work loose. I have made a gasket from some old rubber I had lying aroung from reroofing my bay window, which has taken out the slight imperfection, but it is a very cheap system and I can't believe that there is not also a gasket there. Freezing water aside this is a weak point on the tank so might be worth you guys keeping an eye around this point.
