A couple of weeks ago we decided that the layout in 'Agrid just wasn't what we needed and decided to look for another 'van. One Saturday afternoon off we went along the A50 to look at a Compass Kensington 490/4, the price was good and we paid a deposit! A few hours later we popped 'Agrid up for sale and within 20 minutes had a phonecall from a family in North Wales wanting to come and look at him! They arrived on Sunday morning and loved 'Agrid paid a deposit and left to arrange towbar and driveway for his new home!
On 2 April we went to pick up the Compass, now re-named 'Casper' dropped him off at the local caravan shop to have the motor mover fitted that we had taken off 'Agrid and have a full service. The service was good we needed a new drawbar which they fitted, and everything else was fine apart from needing to have the awning rail and the front rail re-sealed, they have temporarily made sure they won't get any worse and we will get them done asap. But no damp apart from a small amount where the 2 rails need to be re-sealed (around 30-40%) but he has also been standing in a storage yard over winter so I'm not overly concerned and the areas are only very small, (under 20cm in both cases).
So here are some pics...
First visit
So far...
Went away last weekend in him in the gorgeous weather...
The dogs loved it...
And we personalised him just a little...
Plenty still to do, like get the curtains dyed a brighter red instead of the pinkish colour they came out (they were green), floor to replace with vinyl - I can only stand dog hairs for so long on carpet!!. A couple of other bits of the old fabric to cover on the bunk and a small bit in the 'bathroom' and some kind of shelving to add in the wardrobe at the back as it's just a large empty cupboard. The grab rails and front box handle to plasticoat to get them nice and shiny. Also need a bigger awning carpet at some point!
Rob had a bbq point (bought for 1/2 price £19.99) fitted (for free) while it was in for service and we managed to pick up a Cadac Safari Chef (grill only used twice the rest not at all!) to complement the Cobb for £40 this week, we also managed to get a twice used annexe for the Dorema awning for £50 with inner tent and an alko hitch lock for £40.
Looking forward to next weekend when we're away again for a week

I hated watching 'Agrid go off down the road! But I know he's gone to a lovely family who seem happy to have him and all the bits we managed to find for them to have too.
We have the same layout and it works well for us as it means son has a single bed to sleep in if the weather is really bad (he has his own little tent now usually). I hope you and Casper have many happy holidays together!
