Hi, Have no problem with the CRiS Fee, the problem is with the dealers, who say it is CRiS registered, and they will sort that out for you, and inform them of new ownership, But fail to tell you at the point of sale, that you will have to pay the fee, Then you only find this out when the documentation comes through the door, and if first time buyer from dealer, like i was, and did not know about the CRiS registration scheme, makes you think, (thats a bit underhanded),if they do that for small amount of money, what else are the failing to tell you,( Inspires a lot of trust in them!!) I have found, that if you cant trust them in the small, seemingly insicnificant things, they are even less likely to be trusted in the bigger issues.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.

I went to look at a van last nite
Avondale Dart 556/6. the owner says it is CRIS registered, however when I called CRIS and paid up this a.m, they told me it was an Avondale Eagle S, and wasn't registered to the people we sae, who say they've owned it for 3 years. The van was in a secure storage site, and the site owner came down later and spoke to the 'owners'. The chap knows a friend of mine thru' work, and my gut feeling is they are genuine.
Is it poss that the previous owners to last nite have just not bothered changeing the CRIS reg? We were not given/shown any documentation, however the van was well cared for, and the owner knew about all the extra 'add cons' like sockets, shelves etc, that only somene who had done the work would know wasn't part of an original van.
Do I go for it - CRIS says there's no outstanding issues re theft, finance etc?
HELP!!!!
