Which ever way you go DO NOT try and tow or bring a large veichle through Rowsley and via the House and estate, where there are several hazards including single file traffic with very few passing places even for solo cars, due to residents parking outside their homes on the narrow lane at the A6 end, then after the village of Beeley, theres a very narrow traffic light controlled hump backed bridge, followed by several cattle grids.
It is however possible to tow through the town of Bakewell, and aslong as you have the power to tow up a few hills, the A6 Buxton to Bakewell road is quite a good one, then turn Left at the Rutland Hotel Island, follow the short one way system and cross the river bridge, follow on that road for about a mile until you see the signs for Chatsworth House and Chesterfield on the right hand side, its a bad winding road so proceed with care, after about 2 miles you will come to the big Island signposted Chesterfield to the right, Glossop to the left, take that Right hand turn and the CC site is 50 yds on the righthand side.
Please note that theres no waiting area for early arrivals, and parking on the land belonging to the bowling club adjacent is strictly forbidden, any vans pertruding the sites entrance will be turned away until space becomes available during busy times, so as not to cause an obstruction at the busy island nearby.
