Rather than fit the handrail to the steps which would be unstable you can get a rail that pivots from close to the door frame and it doubles as a security device as well. They are about £60 on ebay or slightly more from most caravan accessory places. A good caravan workshop should be able to fit it for you if you do not fancy doing it yourself.

I've had the same problem! I found that site, but at £120 min I decided I would try something else. I bought a standard pupleline two step step which is just the job for my poor old knees, which are at least 20 years older than the rest of me... If a handrail is required as well I would seriously consider one attached to the steps in some way or a handrail attached to the caravan.
Definate opening here for a handyman or lady!
I thought of seeing if I could get a handrail made out of a suplus water roll handle which you could simply stick into the ground beside the steps but nothing exists as far as I'm aware, so enterprise needed!!
The Fiamma handrail is great, but my caravan walls (being a very lightweight caravan) are too flimsy to fit one.
We have seen plenty of handyman made steps complete with handrail attachement, most are made out of half inch ply sides and treads with 2x1inch rail, and fitted with non-slip matting such as rubber type car mats to the treads. Ok not as lightweight as the aloy ones, but a lot lighter on the pocket and sturdy made.
We did see one which had storage incorporated under the treads, used to keep their dogs bowls, teather and grooming kit whlist in transit!

we got a good set from from knowpark caravans in livingston, my son has physical disabilities and is very unsteady on his feet and have found that having the wide footplate on the bottom helps. the handrail can be fitted to any side by moving a bolt.the handle is a bent single pole NOT a hoop. it was 65 pounds.
personally, Id go for a good double step, and the fiamma door type of handrail, the others seem too unstable if you really need to use the handrail for more than steadying yourself, the ones in the link seem more designed for statics.
I was reading an old caravan magazine at our last campsite and one of the tips was to use one of the seat lifts you get to get out of the bath which apparently can be adapted to get someone into the caravan by standing on it - wish I had pulled the page out as my dd is disabled and has problems getting in and out of our van. This guy had bought one of ebay and adapted it to just lift his wife when standing on it up to the door - nifty bit of kit.
