Well, this might fit my needs? Had the Ultima in that size, rubbish in winds. What about this Kampa then, it's the biggest in this style of porch awnings, anybody had a go with them?

Help much appreciated BEFORE i go and buy the bugger!

It really depends what you are expecting.  From my experience, Kampa awnings are generally of good quality.  We had the Sunncamp Ultima 390 and generally disliked it.  Not just because of the stability but we found it awkward to put up.  The Jamboree looks like a standard (i.e. not a lightweight) large porch awning and I guess the pole structure is going to be very similar to a full awning but smaller. 

We wanted a lightweight awning with a simpler pole structure that was a lot more stable than the fibre poles that come with most lightweights, and that was easy and relatively quick to put up.  We found the Kampa Fiesta suited our needs and it has not disappointed.  It is certainly the most stable lightweight I know of.  If you want further details look at my posts in this thread.

Whichever awning you go for, and wherever you decide to buy it from, I would always suggest going to see one 'in the flesh' first.  That way you can see for yourself any potential problems that may occur when you come to put it up.

Incidentally, whatever you decide to buy, I can recommend Jacksons of Old Arley - they will always try their best to sort out your needs at a very reasonable price.

I really wanted the room that the Ultima gives, what with the kids, wife, fishing gear, bikes etc. Don't like the style of the Fiesta, i now want canvas material as opposed to the tent style but good to hear it's stable at over 3m wide. I too was wondering that the pole structure is similar to a full awning.

I don't want a full awning as it's just too much work for a weekend putting up one on a 26.5ft caravan, so a decent compromise at good value will do me nicely!

All the other larger porch awnings seem to be up to 3.2m wide, if i add an annexe then the price i pay will be that of a half-decent full awning. So that's a no-no then.

The Kampa seems to be the cheapest and the biggest, without compromising quality too much, though i'm not expecting Isobella...i am hoping better than Ultima, if you get my drift.

Have a look at the pictures of the Jamboree here.  If you scan through the pictures, there are a couple that might give an idea of the poles structure.

I notice the poles are aluminium.  I've never had aluminium poles - always gone for fibre or steel.  I know one or two on here have had problems with the strength of the alu. poles.  I don't think they come with fibre poles, which is a shame, but it might be worth investigating.  Let us know what you decide.
