Try this way to put it up.(suncamp type)
First select as FLAT and LEVEL a pitch as you can !!
OPEN ALL THE ZIPS,on the front sections and side doors.
Thread the poles through,and hook toggles on ends.
Put in the front cross bar,just to hold everything loosely in place,so you can work inside.(if breezy another pair of hands can be welcome !)
Peg down the van side corners.tension rubbers to pull slightly under side of van,easy when door section is loose.This is the KEY MOVE to a reasonable fit.
Then zip up door and peg the next along door rubbers tensioned towards van.Then the center of side wall rubber,leave the pole end free.Zip the front sections in.
Then do the other side the same.
Put second cross bar in and tension them both.
Do the outer corner pole ends last.The poles will still pull the sides very tight,and sides will bow away from van but should touch van top and bottom.
The fit and flapping about, can be aided by using lengths of pipe insulation,slot the awning into slit in pipe wrap,roll around itself as far as you can,and I hold mine in position with suction clamps(regret will not work if van side ribbed)
I use the large yellow (Screwfix type)double suction clamps,cut the bar in half to make two,and the remaining bar stub will then hold the pipe wrap tight to van side.
Phew...Simples !!...
