Anybody know a caravan that fits the very vague description of "Abbey caravan 1994, 12ft, 2 berth that can be adapted to sleep 3"?
I suspect I'll have to ring for more info tomorrow (it's a Chinese whispers conversation from an elderly friend of a friend of a friend) but am curious to see what I (or someone else on here!) can deduce beforehand :-) If it really is a 2 berth, it's no use to us so I'd prefer not to raise their hopes by phoning - and 12 foot seems very small!
I have an ABI Dawnstar 2 berth and it is 12/13 ft. No idea how to convert to 3 berth. Full awning gives another couple of sleeping spaces. Would be interested in how or if it converts to 3 berth.

Not really small at all, considering my first caravan was a five berth ABI Monza with a total body length of 3.60mtrs, or 11ft 9ins in old money!
Its possible that the third berth was a hamock type stretcher bunk across the top of the double, only suitable for a child under 12, and far from ideal for the perents sleeping below. Our neighbours had a sprite caravan with this type of bunk back in the early 80s.
Its amazing how all caravan sizes and weights have grown so much larger over the years.

Hi, Had old ACE Globtroter 12ft 3 / 4berth, it had two metal poles that slid through a canvas bed (like a stretcher) it rested on wooden rack above the single table come bed,a wee bit crampt though.

It's entirely possible that it may be a 2 birth. I find that if we couldn't be bothered to put the bed up in our last caravan 2 of us could sleep comfortably on the 2 benches. If we put the bed up 3 of us were comfortable on there as it was so big
