There was an ordinary one left in this old van also coming out of the home thats obvious and we used it last week baked spuds,bean, etc ......Although the last one we had in the VW camper when we had it, we had to be careful of the sites electric as some never ever said they had sometimes as low as only 6 amp this was at at Seaford. it did prove uselss that small a amp.

Going quick cooking Jeff fed up with sitting out in all that sunshine with your log fire or did you burn all the bangers

We have recently bought a 700watt basic microwave from Argos for £34 for the caravan, its fairly compact, and fits nicely on the worksurface extended bit of our vans kitchen, it does exactly what it says on the tin, hots beans, cooks jacket spuds, makes a decent bowl of scrambled eggs, or even bakes a quick sponge pudding, or reheats a ready meal or pie, so it suits us fine.

the tesco in stirling had them last week so did morrisons just along the road from witches craigs, dont know what weather like in livi as im in stirling at our seasonal pitch  LOL LOL

microwave output wattage times one and a half and you have the input electricity wattage  divided by 240 equals amps  

so 800watts microwave = 1200 watts in  divided by 240  =  5 amps    but remember your charger and your fridge are drawing current too  so no more than 800 if not on a high draw site

we sometimes feel we should have one but......  given a choice between microwave and 'proper' oven, micro wins every time    never used the oven in our van -  oh on second thoughts -   we keep boxes in it  really good for that
