Coming from the North West around the Bristol area, will see you 100 miles or so from Torquay.

All the services in the area charge for overnight parking. If you don,t fancy paying pull off at Junction 17 M5 [Cribbs Causeway] and try the 24 hour Asda carpark.

Lots of Caravanners use it and you can use the Asda cafe for a meal/snack etc.

I've not done it in this country but wouldn't it be so much nicer to spend £10 and find a small CL close to the motorway to stop at for the night?

Even the best services are pretty grotty places - the caravan areas tend to be shared with the HGVs, smell of diesel (and worse), noisy etc, etc.

We always do the 4-5am start and then OH sleeps in the van after setting up whilst I take the kids off to explore.
