We are travelling from the north west to Torquay end of May with a tourer, can anyone recommend a motorway services on the M5 to make an overnight stop?
It's about 8 hours drive. Go to bed early, set off at 4am and do it in one hop and avoid the overnight fees...

We have set off from Cumbria around 7pm drive to Michaelwood services on the M5 and stay over. it is very good and many caravans do overnight stays and a security guard patrols the services. Then get up and get to the site refreshed!!
------------- Jan:Braids Gretna, Feb Stanwix Park Silloth & Braids Gretna,
Coming from the North West around the Bristol area, will see you 100 miles or so from Torquay.
All the services in the area charge for overnight parking. If you don,t fancy paying pull off at Junction 17 M5 [Cribbs Causeway] and try the 24 hour Asda carpark.
Lots of Caravanners use it and you can use the Asda cafe for a meal/snack etc.
What ever you do dont do what we did,we decided because of the kids to travel through the night and thought they would sleep all night, which they did, only problem was we were up from early morning that day and by the time it was time for us to set off we were ready for bed again lol. What a journey from here,12 hours and when we arrived the kids woke up and wanted to go to the beach.lol
We stayed at Stretham [I think thats how its pronounced] maybe the 2nd or 3rd services down from J8 of the M6. It was fine just stay away from the HGV's with the fridge units running all night. The fee was £8 then [ a few years ago ] but the ticket got you tea in the morning.
