Hi can anyone help i am about to upgrade my caravan thats got a motor mover fitted i need to know if the leisure battery i have will be ok the battery is about two years old and its 85ah would that do the job?
On the last 'van we had a 110ah for the motor mover, but on changing the 'van last month it came with a relatively new 85ah battery and we decided to keep that one, so far it's been absolutely fine for the motor mover but then again we don't have to use it to move the 'van far just manoeuvre it. Whether it would be ok to move it for a longer time I'm not sure but we're going to carry on using the 85ah.

Just looked at my motor mover manual my mover won't work, looks like battery has had it manual says mover is designed to use a minimum of 85 amp battery, on twin or single axle user above1350kgs 110amp will provide you with a superior battery power source and longer moving capability
I have used my powrtouch with an 85 ah battery for the last few years with no problems. Powrtouch even said in the literature it can be used with an 85 ah battery. If you always use electricity then you don't need a big battery. I easily get a long weekend with no why from an 85 ah battery.
85 amp is fine if fully charged,i only changed to 110 amp when our battery failed.we are lucky to have the van at home and it is wired by EHU on a timer for 4 hours daily.this keeps the battery charged.DO NOT use a cheap timer they are dangerous.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Ive just had a Rhyno Charger fitted, in the handbook it says that a caravan charger will only charge a battery to approx 60% to 70% of its full charge, and they recommend to charge the battery with a minimum 8 amps car charger every 4 to 6 weeks
Hi Baskey our van has a motor mover fittered and according to the manual it will run with a 85mh for a short period only and so I bought a 110mh but not from caravan dealer they wanted £120 for a 110mh so I looked on the net and found this place ALPHA BATERIES LTD I rang them because I have some restrictions on the size of batery I can fit in the batery box they rang me back within 5 minutes with a batery 110mh that would fit the batery box at a price of £60 and at the time it was free delivery and it came the next day good service and a good price with a 4 year garantee I hope this helps you.
