Only got our 1st van in February, and following posts on here I orderd Greased Lightning from Ideal World to clean the van.
Have to be honest, it is absolutely spot on, and you could feel it leaving a nice shiney polish on the van. Only one question ..............
What do people us to clean the front of the Van? With the weather being so nice the front of the van was splattered with dead flies, and not all of the blood was removed by Grease Lightning.
I use Fenwicks caravan cleaner for the whole van and use it neat on stuburn marks and splattered bugs.
Cheers
Richard

Here i go again,i hope i dont get a row from the gang for this but i looooooove showroom shine, the flies on your van were hard to come off because you never had a coating of grease lighting to begin with. The next time you use it you WILL notice a difference...better shut up now.
Thanks, I had read your previous posts on Showroom Shine and they convinced me to buy it As you had said it was brilliant on removing everything else. Although coming home yesterday after 10 days, the journey up the M1 / A1 in the rain has dirtied it again, and I will need to go over to the storage place to clean the van next weekend. I just wanted to get the remainder of the flies off before I put another coat on.

any quality car polish will do it.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
My old motorbike used to get covered in flies and if on a long ride in hot weather they used to bake on. I discovered a spray call bug off. This sprayed a foam like liquid which worked really good. As my fairing was plastic and so is the van it should work the same.

Hi campers, i valet cars and caravans for a living and this time of year i'm always busy doing vans from winter.
I use autoglym radiant polish as it has a very fine cut and will remove most marks but be careful as van paint is very very thin and can go through easy but safer on fronts of vans as they are plastic ect.
After this stage i apply a wax ( collinite 476s) which you apply with a damp sponge but don't leave to long and you can apply as many coats as you like, with this wax you can use on the windows which will not scratch plastics.
Now you will notice when flies have splattered it will be very easy to clean off but don't be tempted to use washing up liquid with water as this contains salt and will reduce the life of your polish.
If you have bug splatter, autoglym do a bug remover spray , i have never used it as i have other products for trade only .

They also sell items such as clay bar kits which are great for easy effortless removal of insects, tar spots, grime, overspray, cleaning black dust off the alloys. Use with care though with plenty of detailing lube!
