daughter just purchased a compass rallye 570 from ebay spares or repair.its listed as a 98 model i have my doubts.its a knacker but she thinks dad can repair.its on ebay under model completed listings.any ideas anyone of production years of said model.
do you have an item number for it as i cant find it on there, i have the same make and model and mine was built in 1989, they tend to leak at the front and rear andi had to replace loads of my floor.
There's nothing that can't be fixed, We fixed up our first van but it was very time consuming and labour intensive, Ours was really damp but we did it, BUT you will need some DIY skills a strong constitution and not shock easy patience of a saint , as we found sometimes the more you strip away the more you find. And it can be soul destroying, but as I said it can be fixed so I wish you good luck.

how to identify = VIN number tenth character gives year model.post 1992 all windows should be etched with the chassis number and registered with CRIS..
and should have a W in the number for 1998.
looks heavy from the picture check MTPLM as caravan should only be 85% of cars kerb weight to be safe.

------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
there not that heavey,its about 1140kg m/t 1500kg max.
mines the same, only difference is you have a reverse light and a different sink in the toilet, apart from that even the cushion covers are the same. youve got a good deal for 600, i paid alot more than that for mine,i would of thought compass would of changed alot more in 10 years, as said above do you have a cris number on any of the windows?
mike
Oh dear.and they say camera never lies.went today its a mid 80s.no etching on windows.windows had edging spray painted on to look modern.all panels were peeling.totally beyond economic repair.aly had holes worse than any austin montego ever had.she lost deposit.but will try and retrieve.
yes thats the front window with the edgeing, mines like that, my montego didnt have any holes wonce i welded in 2 new seals, all 4 wheel archs and most the rear floor pan.
what sort of condishion were the cushions, could you let me know everything you found right and wrong with it,might be worth a look at for replacement parts for mine, was it towable?,
oh and you should get you money back as he's relisted it saying it was his mistake.
thanks mike
it was quite grubby inside. been used for storage.the cushions looked ok but grubby not sure what they are like underneath probably thread bare.personally i wouldnt tow it.where the bottom of the caravan met the floor by the door it didnt.the bottom trim had fallen off as no timber left, where the awnining rail joins to front of caravan near locker well again it didnt . leaving front flapping in the wind.he is looking for 700 to take it away.
floor sounds like what mine was, i dont think ill bother for that money, not with a 200 mile tow too, ill keep my eye on it just incase he drops the price,
thanks mike
