Not nail varnish though with acetone!!! That will munch through plastic with nasty results, I'm a beautician and do acrylic nails and acetone is what we use to remove acrylics.They turn to slime and you don't want slimy melting windows.
I would second the WD40

When we had ours serviced last week they told us white spirit - worked a treat!!!
