Hi everyone!

I just thought I'd share this for anyone who is on facebook and might be interested. I bought the My Cool Caravan book and it's great, but on the facebook page there are even more pics of absolutely beautiful caravans which have really inspired me to get cracking on ours. I know there are a few diehards out there who aren't into this sort of thing, but if you keen on making radical changes to the interior of your caravan, like I am, it's worth joining the group and having a nosey.

My next task is new seat cushions...we've got the sage green polka dot curtains and painted most of the interior antique white (B&Q Everywhere paint). Oh, and we have the black and white tile flooring to go down, too. All work in progress! The reupholstery bit is quite scary though for me, I've just read a thread on here about someone else wanting to do it themselves though and the advice gave me a kick up the butt to give it a go  ;o)

Hope the link is useful to someone anyway. :o)

My cool caravan link

Lucy x

I don't think it matters how old the caravan is, ours is 1991 and we're doing it to suit our own taste, which is vintage style really. To be honest, to me it looks old fashioned anyway! I prefer the older style as they seem to have more character.

As long as we can step inside and feel at home, we're happy. The dealer we bought her from pretty much summed it up - they're all made in a basic fashion, and so nothing's the end of the world (even though I thought so when we had a leak!). And seeing as we're not planning on selling it, we have no concern at all about resale value.

It's great to see what can be achieved with a bit of imagination and elbow grease

Now don't get me wrong I love my caravan, but being that it's shiny White and relatively new, hubby would have a fit if I did anything to it like those.
But for about a year I've been itching to buy an old van to personalise and have fun with, I miss my 22 year old van so much they ooze character, and seeing this on FB has made me determined that by the end of the year I'm going to save up and find myself a old van to do up and take away on my own sometimes :)
