Please can i have your advice. Found the layout i want, but need your advice on which used van to buy. Both the same layout and found a good dealer. Which would you buy for build quality, parts etc.
Can i also ask is the kidney shape shower ( P shape) a problem or a blessing? Many thanks.
------------- 2 weeks 2 tents, it's a slippery slope. Now added a tin tent to the collection
My personal preference would be for the Swift but then im a Swift owner and Swift fan, a Bailey owner will be bound to tell you different. As to the shower I cant help as we have the fully enclosed cubical type with sliding door. The Swift in Charisma form will most probably be lighter than most Senator models.

Evan though my present van is a bailey and i have had others,i must admit i have a soft spot for swift.A bailey still dosent feel right as a swift does but, it might be just my imagination..Never had any probs with any shape showers as a shower is a shower.
Both are good Vans but our only going to get personal preferences...Have you tried to get reviews for both vans online... We have a Bailey and were over the moon with it!
We looked at loads of caravans before changing. The only noticeable difference was that the minor details in the Bailey seemed badly finished. Made us wonder where else they had cut corners.
I have had 2 Bailey Senator models and 4 from the Swift stable. All from new.The Baileys although the do not have the same finish as the Swift/Sterling/Abbey models have been far more reliable and the problems I have had have been minor in comparison. All 4 Swift based models had to be returned to the factory for major issues, side delamination, cracked front and rear panels and a cracked floor.
I will say Bailey for preference. They are also good value for money.
I think also its to do with the year of manufacture also the model,i remember bailey had a major problem with leaks and a lot of new vans were recalled. On the whole i think they all have probs one way or another due to mass production and the guy who coudnt care less..
Personally I have a swift and am changing it for a sterling but only because the sterling interior is a lighter colour which SWMBO prefers and it seems that most of the posters with problems on here seem to be bailey owners but that is only my opinion
I've had a Bailey and a swift, I agree with others you will get Bailey owners saying Bailey swift owners swift. I'm now on a swift and have to say hand on heart you cannot fault the fixtures and fixings and the overall quality feel, all vans whatever make can have issues, but I'm a definate swift fan and wouldn't go back.
Plus and this is only my personal taste I'm not fond of the off White cream Bailey are , I like White caravans , as I said this is only my personal taste.
