Dont know what you mean by vertical limit as ive never heard of it but we tow or did tow our bailey california with a shogun but used the wifes teranno sometimes with no probs, and thats about the same size van.Had a look at your type of car and i would say you would have no probs unless some one knows better..

An "S" rating of 90kg is higher than most vehicles. Only heavy 4x4's will exceed this, the ALKO "A" frame is only rated to 100kg. As I have said before you will just have to watch your loading technique to achieve this.
No never towed a caravan before, use my dads camper alot and found it annoying to have to keep packing up every time we want to go some where.
Usage, not as much as i would like expect the xc90 will give me low 20s mpg. Mainly school holidays.
