Be very careful if using a plunge4r or you will blow the pipes right off as they arre only a push fit. Previously we have used neat Milton and this has worked okay.

Turned out they were clogged full of dead flies.
Phil, that sounds like the problem I had on my old 'van except the flies had long gone and there was just the remains of a dead mouse that had tried to explore the delights of the waste pipe.
I would avoid putting anything like a sani snake or stiff wire down a waste pipe on a 'van as the flexi pipe is very thin walled and becomes quite brittle over a period of time (maybe as a result of chemical such as bleach) and if you make a small hole in it without realising a flooded cupboard etc can soon result. It is much easier to simply pull the pipe off the connector and either replace or flush out with water away from the 'van.

Our wash hand basin was not draining and thought we had a blockage in the pipe work. It turned out that a few bars of soap had dropped down the back of the basin, and in the cold weather had solidified over the plug hole. We were quite surprised that the sink itself easily came out by simply sliding up and out of its runners. Once we had cleared the soap, drainage was fine. No cost and no new pipes...result!!!!

Our bathroom sink isn't draining. Should we use anything special like Fenwick's Fendox or will Mr Muscle do the job? Just don't want to disintegrate the caravan!
You can push something long and flexible gently down to clear it. The only time it happened to me we werre away and I used the coaxial cable extension to do the job after I had removed the connector on the end.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
Agree about being very careful about caustic chemicals . Sink plungers are also dodgy because the pipes aren't very robust . My husband tried a sink plunger on our sink . the pressure was so high he dislodged the pipes, flooded the fridge and blew the mains electrics. !
Gentle mechanical probing bicarb, or taking the pipes would be the safest . Hope you sort it out

I have heard that if you mix salt and baking soda it can help in unclogging drains. Mix ½ cup of table salt, ½ cup of baking soda and pour it down the drain. Leave for about 10-20 minutes. Then add boiling water to it. It will then produce a chemical reaction that will dissolve the blockage. I found an article online that lists 6 ways to get rid of clogs in the drain http://www.brothersplumbing.ca/blog/unclog-drain/6-ways-unclog-drain/. These steps are pretty handy and can be done even in a weekly basis.
As part of packing up after a trip, I put a Milton equivalent down the plugholes followed by hot water. I think it also helps keeping the grey waste container a bit fresher.
