Hi, I have had a cheaper insurance quote from the ccc than caravan guard,my question is as so many of you guys praise caravan guard i am now unsure of who to go with
If you read the two different policies you will find that Garavan Guard offer more in comparison to the C & C club policy. For instance if you take out the personal item contents you will find that Caravan Guard will pay out up to £500 for one single item whereas the C & C club insurance will only pay out a miximum of up to £300. For the sake of a few quid then Caravan Guard is the far better policy out of the two if you ever have to make a claim. This is only one reason but before you pay any monies out ask all the insurancies for a policy document first as everything is in black & white and you can filter through them all before you part with any cash.

I was scowling at this decision yesterday and have put it to one side for Mr WR to have a read through later. Our Caravan Club quote was cheaper but there were some differences. The main one that stood out was the Caravan Guard quote said it would recover our caravan from abroad, whereas the CC said they'd only recover it in this country and we'd have to check our car insurance policy for recovery abroad. Obviously I'm not yet sure if our caravan will even make Skegness, but I'm thinking big

I dropped Caravan Guard in favour of C&CC insurance and saved myself £200 for exactly the same amount of cover and conditions.
200 quid saved! Blimey, our entire quote was only just over £100 and there was only 20 quid between them - why am I bothering to give it so much thought
My insurance was about £150 cheaper with Caravan Guard than with CC and if I remember correctly about £100 cheaper than CCC. I think some of the pricing depends on what security you have and I maximised the discount with Caravan Guard. 36 years of towing vans with no claims possibly helped as well.

We bought 'guaranteed value' insurance (guarantee to pay out what we paid for the van) from CC for £70 less than Caravan Guard quoted for Market Value cover. All other bits like contents/equipment etc... were the same level.
If we go out of the UK we use Europe Assist for combined holiday insurance & full breakdown cover for both car & van.
I was paying £384 with Caravan guard and now pay £184 with C&CC carefree insurance. I suppose it must have to do with the value of your van and where you live.
I have every security device except Trakker.
