Hi All, Was on site last Monday, and was making some tea on the gas hob,(end kitchen) when there was an almighty bang, thought the gas had blown out at first, then i heard some kids laughing and running away, realised that the van had been stoned, shouted at the little sw... and said make an appointment for you and me at the Hospital so I can get my foot back out of your rear end. went to rear of van to see what damage had been done, there was a stone on grass about 2inches big at the rear, one side of stone was sharp rest was smooth, examined the van from roof to skirt,no window or lights cracked, then examined body more closely, I was very lucky there was a small dent 4inches away from top of window (skin was not broken), only thing that saved van from serious damage was the new wire fence, the stone must have been deflected by the wire, Reported the incident to site warden, turned out that was first this season, and there were a few last season, there is a road that runs along the site and it takes you to a leisure centre, and this is the road the kids take, the new fence has stopped them wandering through the site, and the site cant use the pitches near the gate for that reason. A word to the wise for anyone booked on the site in Forfar keep away from pitches next to gate, till it is nore secure from these little b's

Is that the Forfar CC site? We were there last year and fortunately there was no trouble when we were there but did hear reports of thefts. When we were there they had security guards patrolling at night!
Has it put you off the site?

Hi neil and lena,  Its the only site in Forfar 5min slow stroll to town centre. The site its self is a nice little site by the loch, spent 3days there last season, and since the fence has been errected most of the incidents have stopped, you will always get the one that thinks it a good laugh, If any incidents happen,Its good to have a word with the Site warden, the boys in blue, and the tourist information board, after all you will not be visiting or spending money in thier town, if this is not dealt with, and hopefully the one that did the deed, will have a picture in his mind (going to hospital with my foot in his rear end). may deter him in the future The van has ribbed panel so not much damage, just a small dent considering the force stone was thown at.

Hi Nicky, thats the one, they were roaming through the site and stealing the pitch marker pegs, and moving other things, thats why they put up new fence, the site is going to be brought up to the same standard as all the other sites, its being done at the end of this season, and the keys handed over to the contractors, think the previous owners of that site had same kind of trouble.

Hi Jeff, Burn them at stake, Far to quick, not being able to father any kids may be better idea, as no more little yobs for the future

Horrible little s....s.  Maybe the Leisure Centre needs to ban them then they'd have no reason to be walking down there any more.

Hi, its only at the first two pitches next to fence, there are gaps in the trees there along that road as you come in the gate.. If using Satnav it will take you past site, comming off the hill onto traffic lights, go thought lights take second left, sign posted leisure centre.site only 200ft in. If you have not been there before a good place to eat is the Castle club on Castle street, £8 per head for main course, good hot food.  walking, turn left out of site go up through car park on right, turn left at the end of road go a couple of hundred yards on right, green painted entrance door way, club up the stairs.

Hi All, Just an up date, Had a very close look at rear of van,and on further inspection it looks as though, the most part of the stone hit the window rail that runs all the way across the rear of the van,and only part hit ithe skin, that explains the very loud ban, and judeging by the dent in rail was very lucky it did not hit the body with the full force, as it would have definitly pierced the skin. So all in all very lucky to get away with very minor dent damage.

Hi your welcome, Oh the west end bar on the cornner at lights, not a bad pint (bit of a mans pub) If you go for meal in Castle Club there will be no room for the beer.
