I am having an external BBQ point fitted and wondered what is the maximum length of hose recommended and in reality what length do people actually have?
Wondered about getting a BBQ point put in but decided against it as I prefer the flexibility of moving the equipment where and when. When we go with a group of people we tend to BBQ together, in a central place. Then there are times when I prefere to move the BBW acording to which awning we put up, where the sun/ wind is etc. For all these reasons we decided against a BBQ point. Just my opinion though - it wouldn't do for us all to be the same.
We uae a 5 mtr pipe which gives the flexibility to get away from the awning, and put it roughly where we want to. No probs with pressure loss etc, and very easy to use.
Just used ours for the first time this weekend and it was fab so easy. We have a two metre length - which was the longest pre cut piece the shop would sell. The cadac book says no longer than 1.5 but 2 seemed spot on
Yep, none of the local caravan places near to me will sell the pipe in anything longer than 2m, they all state that it is for safety but I am not sure which aspect of safety they are referring to but I suspect it is trip hazard and pipe damage. I have the feeling that having flames close to an awning is probably more dangerous than a long hose.....

we have a 3m length for our cadac and we use it a lot. I believe cadac recommend a hose no less than 0.8m and no longer than 1.5m. I believe the longer length parameter is to guard against trip hazard and nothing to do with loss of gas pressure etc.
