Well, we bought the latest ultra-thin Avtex W164DR - from John Lewis to get the 5yr warranty.
We considered a low price Alba, but although the 16" model wasn't on display in Argos, other Alba's were and the pictures were poor alongside other makes, to say the least.
We would also have taken the 16" Linsar very seriously - except that the mounting on the back was not central, so totally no good for our Swift TV holder. That was a big disappointment because otherwise it was a good TV and better value than the Avtex. Not quite so good on viewing angles, but for the price it would have been a good buy.
Strangely, I thought the newest Avtex 16" must be LED because it is so thin, but it is a regular LCD TV. The bigger 19" is LED backlit - but that one definitely wouldn't fit our TV holder any better than our outgoing TV. Since it isn't LED, you do have to wonder slightly about the high price. Side by side in John Lewis, the Avtex had the better picture/sound of any of the small LED or LDC TV's.
We've tried the TV at home. The sound is good, the interface is friendly and picture quality looks great at a wide range of angles, so now we have fitted it in the caravan - where it fits beautifully. Small & neat - flips round easily - just what we wanted.
Pity the packers somehow forgot to include the AAA batteries for the remote - but apart from that, am very happy (so far!).
Oh, and on one of the pages of the instructions it mentions something about selecting a 'dick' which I can only assume is a typo - LOL! Now you know I am female - since no bloke would ever read the instructions!.
