Hi La La, sorry about delay in responce didn't see the question. Any reasonable quality that is stating high waxing capabilities.. I thing the reason the waxing slows it all down, is probably by killing it to an extend, and the wax fills all of the pits and holes in the paintwork, thus again slowing it.
Not sure what the patio cleaning people and roof tile cleaning people use these days, but a lot of them advertise cleaning all of the algae off , and then they seal it to stop it comming back. If they are putting this onto a patio, I'm pretty sure it wont be harmfull to pets, might be worth looking into it. You can still wash your patio afterwards, so whatever it is they use, must be pretty impervious to water etc.
