Hi
Can anyone tell me how to clean the flush in our caravan toilet,it is cleaned after every use..some people say just hot soapy water but I think it may need more then that as when we flush black bit are visable.
many thanks
Di
Oh will that do the trick too Michael ? I already have Milton so that would be handy.
We've got another caravan now & it's all a bit different to our old one as it didn't have a separate tank at all, it just drew water from the Aquaroll. Don't really know what we're doing with the loo in this one at all
It's OK to use just plain water. Our previous van also used water direct from the Aquaroll, so having to fill a separate tank in this van has taken a while to get used to.
We have some Elsan pink that we add occasionally (if we remember), we have never had the dreaded "black bits".
Thetford suggest Milton like Michael said, but if you have Puriclean for doing your water system you could use that too.
I would not use Milton for the van's hot/cold water system, if left too long in the HW tank it could damage it.
We've been out 5 times in our caravan & I haven't cleaned the flush tank yet - I've just been topping it up. I've not had any black bits & it still smells fine. Should I be cleaning it every time? The bottom tank gets cleaned thoroughly each trip at the CDP (sometimes several times depending on how much its used)

only if black bits appear.
