I am being refused insurance as i keep my caravan at my brothers farm which has no security (other than one very mad dog!) Can anyone advise me of any insurance companies that i could get a quote from, i have tried quite a few, but they will only quote if its kept at the home address or a secure site.
We had the same problem - We got told to use the caravan club - yes you have to be a member and it currently costs £38 per year but my insurance of my caravan is so cheap it is worth the membership and you also get lots of other benefits too.
Green flag offer great rates and give extra services for no extra cost if you are a CC member.

To my knowledge, the caravan club will insure you where ever it is stored as long as it has a hitch lock and/or wheel lock fitted.
After we had our last van stolen, the CC insist that we use a gold CaSSOA storeage site, but still only hitch lock or wheel lock. I think they understand that where you store the site is much more important for the security that all the devices you put on to the van - most which can be got off in a few minutes anyway. I think what the CC insist on depends on your history and the location. We live fairly close to the M42, which leads to the M6/M5/M40 one way and the M1 the other - also close to the A5. The road network enables a quick get away in a variety of directions, therefore it's more of a risk.
Mines stored on a farm that was non Cassoa registered, I have always used caravanguard insurance. The site has since become cassoa silver award but I haven't noticed a noticeable reduction in my premiums for it.
