My little van doesn't have any taps/water - I use a small water carrier for pouring water into the sink for washing up.
I would love to be able to get an aquaroll/water container and somehow pump the water up into the caravan - would this be possible? If so, what sort of tap, pump and hose would I need?
It only needs to be a very basic system - I did consider getting one of those pump action taps where you just push the top up and down and the water comes out but not sure how effective these are and would a 12v system be better.
Any advice or recommendations would be very much appreciated.
You would need a submersable pump to go in Aquaroll. You would need a wall fitting & cut hole in caravan & screw & seal this in. A microswitch tap to go in sink & flexi plastic pipe for plumbing & wire it in. Not difficult apart from cutting hole.
Easier, cheaper alternative is just use an interior tank strapped into cupboard under sink, 10 litres as used in campervan or Eriba caravan with submersable 12v pump & microswitch tap.
If you look on Whale pumps website you will see what is required. Its all at a caravan accessory shop.

Justkampers do bits you might use here All you need is submersable pump. microswitch tap, tubing, wiring & a suitable container. you would either have to buy or make a suitable lid that could have pump tube & cable thru it.
If I am not mistaken Whale made a foot operated suction type water pump, I bought one a good few years ago for our Trailer Tent and fitted into the little lift of kitchen on the back of the unit, I was a very efficent little unit and no electrics required.
That is the pump action tap I had seen but it sounded too simple to be true! I might start with that and see how I go. Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy it?
I've come across this thread a bit late, but I put in a whale lever operated hand pump (a bit like a beer pump!LOL) - no electrics, just a piece of food quality hose attaches underneath, a drilled hole and a fitting for underneath. This all connects through a hole inside the bottom of the cuboard to a Fiamma Roll Tank 23 which is easier to fill and pull as it's only 23 litres, so not so heavy and much easier to store than the aquaroll type. The water lasts me approx 3-4 days.
Really easy to operate and no electrics to go wrong or flatten a leisure battery.
