Hi All, as newbies and looking for advice all the time,we would like to know if it is vital to keep caravan charging all the time she is parked on the drive, what are the benefits ? Or having twin electrics ,will that do the job (that being i dont know, just trying to be clever) hope you can understand this thread
i have a shed at home and the van is connected 24/7 by EHU.this is on a timer of 4 hours a day this keeps my dehumidifier running a battery charged. it is always fully charged.done this for years,it only like being on a site for weeks at one time it will only charge to 13.5 volts max so no damage can happen by over charging. if top up type you need to check it for water every 6 months. see battery
If the 12V system is turned off so nothing's draining the battery, there shouldn't be any need to topup the battery more then every three months. I've left mine for 4 months and it didn't require much charging.
We bring her onto the drive, a couple of days prior to our travels and plug her in to the garage electrics, main and big reason is to charge up the fridge, cooooooooooool beer, once legs are down, relax soon after.
