Yesterday's constant downpour has demonstrated that we have a leak - OH says he reckons it's from somewhere around the awning rail area, running down to the floor behind the bathroom cupboard  

Phoned the dealer this morning, who sounded very helpful and said could we bring it in as quickly as possible for them to look at. 

Unfortunately, OH's hours are not remotely flexible this week so there's no way he'd get home to tow it over there - and we'd booked our first weekend away with it with friends for the weekend

So either I try my first ever hitch and tow solo (which I really didn't want to do until I'd done the towing course, as I'm spatially challenged at the best of times and a whole lot worse if things start to go adrift), or we come back early on Sunday ...

Bah flippin humbug!

My OH doesnt drive so I am a female tower with no option for a rest or change and I can confirm it is a doddle, I get quite a few strange looks sometimes when I pull into campsites or service stations but I quite enjoy 'doing it for the girls'.

Have a go, its worth it just to save another days water getting in the van.

This is what I love about this forum - people rallying round to help each other.

I'd also say give it a go.  The towing it's easy & if you're worried about parking it (can't spell manoevering) when you got there you could let them know what time to expect you & ask them to give you a hand on arrival.

Hope you can get it sorted quickly.

However, life had one of those little serendipitous moments today :-)  Before I'd had chance to contact him with the news from the dealer, at lunchtime OH was sent to work from home for being too full of cold to be popular in the office.  So he was able to drop the van off at the dealer late this afternoon and, they're going to assess it tomorrow . 

They sounded characteristically "can do" and optimistic about having it fixed in no time, so I'm expecting to pick it up on Wednesday.  They'll hitch it for me, then after a bit of sensible thinking, I'm darned sure I should be competent to drive the two straight lines home (though I guess I may have to deviate slightly for the two roundabouts).  I'm not going to attempt to get it into the storage site (as the access is a little tricky) or even to unhitch it (which just doesn't feel like a sensible job for someone with a large bump), it can just stay attached to the car then Mr WR can take it to the site later.

So hopefully both halves of the problem (the damp and me being a bit of a soft lass about towing!) are on their way to being fixed!
