I'm on my second elddis super sirocco at 7.96 mtrs use all over uk and France never had a problem, in fact some sites (particularly in France) seems to be a benefit as when you say you are twin axle and the length, we have been given some lovely big pitches which are rare on European sites.
There are a few sites that say no twin axel caravans, but none I have wanted to stay on. Only had one site turn us down because we were too big for their pitches ( 7.94m)
We have had no problems with our conqueror 645 but you will need a motor mover as i find ours is immpossable to shift fully loaded on site and much easier to move on to a pitch etc
No problems with ours except for a few sites where access is tight. The owner will usually tell you if this is the case. OH says it's a more stable tow than single axle vans, but you do need a mover.
If you keep it at home it might also be worth checking that you have sufficent space to swing it onto your drive ect.
The lane where my Dad lives is only about 10ft wide with passing places, his gateway is 8ft 6ins wide , we can swing our 6.5mtr van in with a struggle using quite a lot of adjustments back and forth twisting with the mover engaged, but its not easy and something we avoid wherever possible.

We are looking at a 1999 Eldiss Crusader Superstorm if anyone has any comments?
I have access to large indoor storage at reasonable cost and have towed with a L/R,s for many years, not worried about weight just the size of it on -site
i've only been declined at two sites - one in frome one in poole. the main issue was access with our 26 footer.
both said it was due to access rather than pitch size...and having passed one of these sites recently i could understand why.
just remember to mention it up front and its never a problem and as someone said earlier, sometimes you can get allocated a better pitch.....
although saying that we did get allocated a not so great pitch the other week, and when i saw the alternative "smaller" pitch i took that instead for a significantly better view. they said i could have it if i could get in it which they thought was not possible....no probs with the motor mover...but no space to use the car to get it in!
