we were thinking of an Adria a few years ago but I seem to recall they were only any good if you are always on EHU ? Has this changed with the new ones ?
Hi we have an Adria Altea 542 UK 2008 model yr, and have absolutely no problems with it what so ever. OK its a bit Ikea on wheels in terms of furnishings (light wood effect), but it suits us, and as i am sure others will be along shortly to confirm ones claims. We do not have the oven with ours but the cadac makes up for that in many ways. The two kids have not damaged nor do we have damaged bits and it still looks and smell like new each time we go into it. It tows extremely well as i believe all Adria do due to suspension shock adsorbers and a longer A frame. Not Seen any yet of UK vans i would change it for. Very good value for money.
The only down side is the lack of an on board charger for the battery, but hey the Aldi Smart charger £12 does the trick nicely.
I third it. Have the Altea 542DK and had it for 3 years now and never had a problem and with 2 young boys who like to play (alot) the quality is fabby and nothing has fallen to bits.
I have looked the model you are looking at as my next investment because I can't fault the Adria build quality. The Adora range has a few more bells and whistle than the Altea so enjoy if you do get it!
Cheers
Richard

We have had our Adria Adora 612 D.P for 12 months now,It is the 2009 model.Tows superb, never had a problem with it,really pleased with it.No problem when not on e.h.u. it has built in charger.
Storage under the bed is super and has access from lockers each side of van. However on a downside i must say the lockers in the lounge and bedroom are difficult and clumbsy to open!! Saying that everything else is super!! Cooker and fridge both effiicent. The van is to a high standard and comfortable,i have no intension of changing it and if i did i would consider the same model as it suits us fine
I echo Graeme69's comments as we have also had the Adora 612DP since October '09. It is a fantastic van and I think Graeme's cupboard catches must be a bit sticky as ours are fine, The only downside we had with ours, was the location of the 240v power point in the kitchen. We had another fitted on the wall for £65 by the dealer and now everything in the garden is rosy.
Hi all, i'm reading with interest this thread! We have just come back from looking at an Adora 612 DP , we have the Altea 542DT which works fine with out hook up (took us a while to become 'energy efficient'! but were getting there) it has a built in battery charger & we have fited LED bulbs. We'v had it 3 years & bascially the older kids don't to come with us anymore ! So we fancy the luxury of a fixed bed! The plug socket location in the kitchen concerned us a little, also access to the under bed storage.....is that only from the lockers? we tried lifting the bed but it didnt seem to want to go up ! Any other quirky bits on the Adora 612 DP any one know of??
The location of the 240v socket in the kitchen area is pretty dumb, that is why we had one fitted on the wall over the worktop (only £65 so it was a no brainer, really) and it works so much better now.
Withregards to access to the underbed storage, both sides of the fixed bed will lift up to gain access from the inside and there is also a door inside to get at stuff. You can also access from both sides on the outside and you can get loads of stuff in there.
With the extended drawbar, it tows very well and is a very stable outfit. I fitted Al-Ko shock absorbers last week and it took just over an hour, even taking into account taking off both wheels for balancing.
We bought ours with the news of the arrival of our first grandchild and we have not looked back,we absolutely love it and are always looking for the next available day we can get away.
I would recommend the Adria Adora 612DP to anyone.
