Hi, we have not long since puchased our 2nd tourer (tourer, static, back to tourer). I would love to take my mum with us but the beds in the caravan are noway big enough. My mum has a multitude of back problems and hip and leg problems. She is also 6ft tall. Our other tourer had the kingsize make up bed but this tourer is 1990 and is probably a 3/4 double? So i was wondering if anyone had used the double height airbed? And if this would be suitable for a disabled person? Also i would be grateful if anyone could recommend a good chair that is`nt too low? Or anything else that might be of use really. Thanks in advance :)

Hello
I can only advise on chairs. I suffer from back problems and neck problems (lower back and mid back mostly) and I would say:
Don't use those "bucket shaped" fold up canvas chairs (the ones with the drink holders in them) like this.

Even a spring action metal framed one like this or a wooden one like this would be better as they support the back rather than "flop".

Also, if she is tall and feels more comfortable perching rather than having to get down low into a chair, have you considered a fold-up bar stool-type chair?

Hi iam six feet two tall and always had back problem all night!! until i read a review last year, AEROBED!! brilliant blow up bed with own rechargable mains or car pump, we have the double split mattress, you can adjust the air to soft, medium or very firm, an Aerobed will blow up to its maximum without air loss due to its own special fist sized pump, comes in single size as well, built like a tank, doesnt need to be double height this mattress is the real deal, just spent a week in the new forest sleeping in late for once. by the way no air loss all week, good luck.

My husband has mobility trouble and we use a double height airbed and we find its very good to the point that when we have stayed in a static we prefer to use the blow up bed instead of the statics bed. Ours is a queen size and we add abit of air every other night to keep it firm. It blows up really fast and deflates just as fast and its also very comfortable and surprisingly nice and firm. The pump is built in and it comes with a bag.
