All new foam is expensive, and the old saying that you only get what you pay for is so very true in this instance, you may be able to buy cheap square cushions from the likes of Ikea or argos, but you wont find them so comfy when made into the base for a bed, the chances are the foam used is a softer cheaper grade than that used for Caravan upholstry and will flatten to the base boards as soon as you lay down on it.
If your not too fussy about the fabric matching the rest of your upholstry you could try searching the scrappers yards a bit further afield, or buying a cheap double foam mattress and cutting your required shapes out of that with a breadknife, but best to wear some gloves if you do as its tough stuff to cut through, and if you dont wear any your very likely to get blisters on your hands or worst still slip and cut yourself.
its just a case of covering them then with some stretchy fabric such as fleece to tone in with the rest of the vans soft furnishings.
