Actually Sarah, the C&CC HSMs get paid less than the CC. Or at least they did when we were working. NB they are not called Wardens any more but Holiday Site Managers!!!!

The wardens who greeted us at the C&CC site in Scarborough on Friday night this weekend were absolutely lovely, despite our delayed arrival.  Maintaining that level of cheerful helpfulness at 9pm on a rainy Friday after a long day would be beyond me!

in our experience miserable CC wardens are the exception. most we`ve come across are friendly / chatty / happy enough

After over twenty years in the CC finally came across a miserable officious warden at Hurn lane club site this year.

I mentioned this to the wardens at our next club site and "lo and behold" they knew of this paticular warden who is apparently well known in the club fraternity.

The warden told me the club are well aware of certain individuals and  in his words not mine "gradually weedling them out"!

I've yet to meet a miserable or unfriendly CC warden. I've met one or two who were clearly frustrated or exasperated by the antics of some of their guests, but even then they were very good. It probably helps to note when they are busy, and keep non-essential queries to other times.

The wardens move around every year (or so) so I would not expect to have a problem with returning to a site.

Perhaps that site has particular problems that affect whoever wardens it??

If you don't mind cleaning up toilets after some one has been sick in them or had other filthy habits and enjoy riding around on a lawnmower every 5 minutes to disturb a peaceful afternoon, go for it!

we were at killin a few weeks back and all the wardens and assistent wardens were very helpfull chatty and nice people,i have also been residential on a site where ive watched wardens have very little time off in either winter or summer it seems like a long hard slog you would need to be really commited
