I know where there is one close to you - it is not a public weighbridge as such, but you may be able to use it if payment is offered, worth an ask.

It is at a big scrap metal dealers on Manchester Road in Leigh, I can't remember the name of it now but it is almost opposite Bedford High School down a short lane, there is a sign along the road but it is easy to miss it.

I was renovating a property in Leigh a couple of years ago and took the old boiler, radiators and copper etc down there on my trailer.

They had very big wagons coming in full of scrap so there is room to turn round.

Landfill sites, and some larger "Recycling Centres" have weighbridges, which may or may not be be available for use by the public. It's a matter of contacting them and asking.
Try asking your bin men, or a local skip hire company if they know of any, or maybe ask at the council facilities.

Info on some council facilities in Wigan here

I used one at a landfill in Leyland who were happy to oblige, and didn't charge me much. They were facinated by the outfit and hearing about my forthcoming trip.

Thats great news. I have the caravan stored near Bents garden centre so its not too far away.either so will bob in at weekend. Its just I have never taken any caravan I have owned to a weighbridge so would be interesting to see if im spot on or over. Not had stability issues just curious. Thanks

This may be too far for you, but there's one at the council refuse tip in Bury, just out of the town centre, or one at a private scrapyard down Oakenbottom Road in Bolton

Have managed to get sorted now. J Doyle on Manchester road isn't very far from where I live so am goign there, They are charging £7.20 for it.
