Hi

We are considering an awning for our van but can't decide which sort to go for. Do we go for a quick easy erect porch style such as the Royal Wessex 390 or Riviera 340 or a traditionall full width awning such as Bradcott or Isabella? Happy to spend up to £500 but if a decent porch one for £200 is sufficient should i save my cash?

Thanks

Jon

We had a full and a porch awning and found that we always took the porch awning. It covers about 3/4 of the side of the van and provides enough space for the two of us. We can get  a table and four chairs in and have enough space to walk around. Useful as a dry area with a dog. If your party is for two adults and four kids it may not be big enough. The porch awning also took up less space and weight in the car which was of considerable benefit. Just some factors to consider

Phil

Thanks Phil. There would only ever be my wife and I so size for 4 isn't a driving factor. I like the idea of the ease of erecting the porch style awning, having seen so many people struggle with full size awnings it would be the last thing i would want to worry about after a long drive. Our van is stored in France and is only used abroad and generally in fine weather and I think that is perhaps also making me lean towards the porch style awning too.
