Hello everyone! I am Kath and we just bought our first ever caravan a couple of days ago. I am looking for any nuggets of advice really. What sort of things have you found you can't live without? It's a very basic caravan. It has a double & two single beds, a hob, fridge and sink plus a toilet and sink. Just enough for us beginners. So...what do I NEED? Thanks in advance x
Best advice is just buy the bare minimum for now ,beg borrow, steel what you can . Dont worry hang around here long enough and soon you wont be able to fit into the car for 'stuff '

You need to list what you have already got & others might point out what else you need. Have you at least had the running gear on caravan serviced & replaced the tyres if you are uncertain of their age?
Hi. We have recently emptied our old van out ready to switch over to a new one. I wrote a kit checklist, so nothiing gets forgotten. It runs to 5 pages! I am happy to mail it to you if you want. The important thing is to have fun!!
Welcome to the world of caravanning! Hope it gives you as much fun as it does us.
As I said on a previous thread, I'm quite new to it, had three weekends away so far, and have returned from each with a shopping list for next time!
Picture what you use at home ( from kitchen utensils to bog roll to bin bags ), imagine what you're gonna cook and what you'll need ( oven trays, pans, a sieve for draining pasta for eaxample ), build from there. But MOST IMPORTANTLY....... don't risk buying wine only to find it's a cork top and you've no CORKSCREW!
I'm going to get shouted down for this, but the best thing Mr Chile and I bought when we first had Bertha was a 2 day towing course each. Best investment by far (apart from the electric coolbox for the beer)
