Hi question, does the Caravan Club or the Camping and Caravan Club lobby for the rights of Campers and Caravaners in the same way as the AA and RAC do for drivers?

So no one lobby's for Caravaners rights etc.

Bit of a gap, considering the amount of people who have this as a hobby.  Most other groups have a lobby group.  Not sure why we dont??

Yes they do and I am sure that if you email either they can give you a list of the campaigns they have lobbied for. David Amiss MP is the CC parliamentary advisor for lobbying purposes

Cheers Phil, it does strike me that are a large and tighter nit group than most, and often enough people discuss in numbers areas of unhappyness with the certain trends etc. 

Like Skittish says, we are probably a bit to easy going for our own good. 

It would be good if there where a clear way of having items discussed if it comes to it.

On the downside, The Caravan Club also had as a member of their Council the disgraced former MP for Barnsley Cenral, Mr Eric Illsley.

He was released in May after serving less than a third of a 12 month sentence for False Accounting.

I would have thought both Clubs do rather a lot of 'lobbying' not only to Government but also they are members of international organisations like the FIA (not just to do with F1!) and international camping organisations. I suspect where the issue is in the question is do they actively campaign  to change things or do the campaign to protect members interests and I would imagine that more of the latter goes on than the former. I would have thought the CC would be more likely to try and get people on side rather than being confrontational. I would be interested to know what issues people think there needs to be a campaign on?
