Hello everyone our caravan key broke in the front locker lock has anyone got any ideas how to remove the broken part of the key out of the barrel of the lock.
If the broken end is still visible, then maybe a powerful magnet would help ease it out, or possibly a very powerful vacuum cleaner.
Im sorry but I have no idea how to get it out if is broken off deeper than this, apart from contacting a locksmith who would have specialist tools for the job.

Remove the lock, make sure that the key is not in a slightly turned position, it must be in the fully locked or in the fully unlocked position, give it a good dose of something like WD40 then after a few minutes tap the back of it with piece of wood and it should fall out. If it will not come out it would be cheaper to buy a new lock than get a lock smith to remove it. If you do decide to order a new lock ask your dealer to order one with the same key number as the old one.

If you've still got both parts of the key, a drop of superglue often works - make sure that you don't use too much though, it should only be enough to stick the mating faces of the key together.
As michael said, use the broken piece you do have to unlock it then once it's open remove the barrel and push it out with a piece of wire. You should be able to get a replacement key from the number, but I have had a similar problem to you with a roller shutter door which had no number on. A local locksmith was able to cut a copy from the two halves of the key and it was only a couple of pounds.
You could try a pair of very long pointed tweezers, I use these to do the same job on lockers at work and very rarely fail to do the job and I do it many times a year being in a school. The locks you have are the same as Locker locks.
BTW these tweezers are the same as ones used for dissections.
