I've been thinking of getting a porch awning. I have a full NR Pullman awning which is superb, but I've been thinking of getting a small one for when it is just me and the wife away without kids. The reasoning behind this is, is it easier to put up, easier to put away wet for later drying, but does it still have room for a small table for eating at? Some I have been looking at are just about as expensive as the NR was, but othes seem to be modified dome tents.
Anyone have experiences of porch awnings they would like to share?
Maybe you could look out for a second hand porch awning. We got a second hand Dorema Toronto one which is a fairly large porch awning and has plenty of room for a table and chairs. It was in good condition and has done the trick. That model is about £450 new and we got ours for £100. Try to check that the zips are all in working order before you buy and that all the parts are present. We saw ours advertised in the Ad Trader online and there were loads to choose from in our area. It could be worth a try.

http://www.dorema.co.uk/supreme_xl_270.php Have a look at these, we have just bought one, excellent product with good discounts on at the moment. Delivery was within two days of placing order. We have a sunncamp Ultima which we were using before, ok in good weather for short breaks but not much good in foul weather, spacewise though ok for a small table and two chairs plus chocolate lab Lol. For the price the Dorema was new though I went for that rather than chancing an ebay purchase and have not been dissapointed, a well made product and no, i don't work for them! Good luck in your search.
We are also looking for a porch awning. We have a full size one but I have noticed a lot of people useing a porch awning as they appear to be easier and quicker to erect especially if you are only out a couple of days. There are a lot on ebay that seem worth looking at.
Bought a Kampa Rally 200 last week. Paid £200 new.

Used it for the first time at the weekend, quite impressed, seems nice and sturdy and reckon I could put it up myself in about half an hour even with my obession with perfect pegging!
Fits our needs perfectly for a staging post for us and kids for weekends away that I can throw up and take down quickly. Does have room for small table and chairs and is so much less hassle than the full size awning. I guess that's the point, being clear on your needs...
Had to take it home wet so dead easy to dry on line and pack away.
Bought an inner tent today so we can house guests in it over short weekends.
We use the porch awning when away for just a couple of days.
Its an outdoor revolution porchlite XL; its a good size for a couple of days away and I suppose for people without kids it would be OK for sitting in with a table.
The other advantage is that you dont fight with your other half, as you do when putting up a full awning, you can put the porchlite up yourself,
With the Kampa Fiesta, you can add a zip on bedroom annexe either or both sides. The whole front and the sides zip out completely, making it easier to cope with and easier if you need to dry it. We have had occasions when the sides have been perfectly dry, but the roof has been a little damp/wet. The sides can be packed away, leaving less to dry at home. Without the sides and front in, you can use it as a canopy. Steel poles all around (non of those thin fibre poles - don't get me wrong, I like standard fibre poles, but not those thin black ones), making a very stable structure. The Fiesta also has a dedicated zip door.
