Hi its with a sad and heavy heart that I post this... my camping/caravan days are now over sadly selling my trustworthy caravan (hate towing and being the only adult with 3 children 10, 9 &7 its hard work).
The kids don't want to camp either (but just got back from Florida so that may be the reason why).
Thankfully my friends parents have a static caravan, so of to their site in North Wales for 1 week in aug and a few weekends as well, so although not like camping we know, but still under a tin, but with more luxury.
Thanks for all your advice over the years.
This season haven't had chance to take ava out, as moved house, went to Florida, was due to camp all of August, but now cancelled.
Kids were jumping for joy when I told them they weren't going, thought it would be tears all round.

Aww. Never say 'never'. There might well be a stage in your life when camping/caravanning makes a comeback. Those children won't stay children forever and your own life could take on an entirely new direction.
Our lad (aged 14) doesn't really care for caravanning any more - but hey, we will just have to get by until there are other options for him - instead of coming with us.

Have you never taken them to Cornwall to Newquay
And surfed or gone body boarding. This is what my two loved.
But if your not keen then it's not worth it.
Take care have fun what ever you do.

Aww, you'll always be a camper at heart - we can take different directions but I don't think it ever leaves us. One day you may well end up back under canvas or 'tin'. In the meantime, enjoy whatever you do.

Thankyou all for your well wishes, being a single mum, and I hate towing, so the thought of towing from merseyside to cornwall is a nightmare for me, although now with my friends mum having a static on a lovley site in north wales, my kids and I will still have outdoor holidays but without the stress of towing.
We have had 5yrs of happy camping memories, the children will always remember 6 weeks at a time in the school holidays either in a tent or in a caravan, may just buy a small tent and then go back to it next year, with them being older it will be easier for me being in a tent.
Will stay in touch on the boards, and like people say never say never, by ideal would be a motorhome, and going all over britain, but unless I win the lottery then that is out of the question.

Hi Thomsonmum3,
We, too, are put off by the thought of towing our caravan to wherever but rather than give it up completely we now leave the caravan at a site we are happy to go back to every time we feel the itch to get away. The site will tow it to their storage area and pull it out onto our selected pitch when we call them before a visit. We have the storage cost to face, of course, but that's a price we're prepared to pay for the convenience of not towing. You might even contemplate not insuring the caravan too since you would not be towing on the roads anymore and there is not a great risk if you keep it on a secure camping site anyway. Leave everything you need in the caravan and you can swan off for a mini-break or the whole summer perhaps!! If you chose the site with the kinds in mind they might even want to come too! Stick with it!!
