Hi all

Had been deliberating on awnings for a while and thought we'd decided on an easy to erect porch style awning.... However, out looking we spotted the Concept Plus from Bradcot with a nearly 50% reduction and given that I let family with children use the van decided to go for it and provide a decent amount of space. Anyway, awning arrived on Saturday but other than a sheet with a pole diagram there are no instructions. Anyone on here have one of these with the easy alloy pole system who can let me have some advice on how I put the thing up? I have never put an awning up before either!

Cheers!

We have a Concept Plus & I have to say it's not the easiest of awnings to put up!  We've only put ours up once & when we stood there laying poles out & looking at instructions 2 couples opposite came over laughing & offered to help.  We were soooo grateful!  I suppose we'd have done it eventually but it's not easy for 2 people to handle (or at least it wasn't for us).  Gorgeous once up though - so much space & I suppose the more you do it the easier it'd get.

We've now sold the van we bought the awning for & we'll be trading it in to buy a new standard sized Concept mainly because we struggled to find a site with hardstanding pitches wide enough for the 'Plus'.

Best advice I can give is go to a friendly site for a weekend & leave putting the awning up until the second day (so you can start fresh in the morning rather than as soon as you arrive).  Lay the poles out as in the diagram & if you get stuck look for some friendly helpers.  We had a great laugh doing ours with the people who came to our rescue.  Once you've got it figured, use coloured tape on the ends of the poles so you'll know what fits where next time

I looked at the same advert I think and was tempted by it. I am glad I didn't now the last thing I want is an awning that I cannot put up.

Thanks Vanessa, sounds like a sensible suggestion. I have laid the poles out today and it seems to make sense but without the van here to put it onto it is only theoretical at the moment!! Looks like a lovely awning just rubbish/ lack of instructions!

It is lovely & the space is amazing!  We also have the extra panel so you can have one side out & one set back if you want.  Don't be put off by us struggling - we'd only ever put a full awning up three times before we got the Concept Plus so we're not exactly experts.  If it fitted the van we've bought we'd keep it but we have to change anyway & the main reason we're going for the standard depth is we like hardstanding pitches but they tend to be smaller than grass ones.
