Have to say i was towing our van home in the first lane on the m6 on Sunday afternoon i was doing 60 mph two vans shot past me in the second lane they were doing 70 plus and the guy behind the first van seemed to think it was funny to get as close to the back end of his mates van as he could , shocking driving gentlemen .

As Gill said about drivers towing caravans exceeding the speed limit are basically just giving caravanners a bad name. The trouble is that some folk on the roads will just tar us caravanners all with the same brush which many of us on know is not true. Some of us do take care when towing, drive with responsibilty and adhere to speed limits at all times.
We've done the rooflight thing once. Thankfully someone driving in the opposite direction frantically waving at us & pointing at the roof made us realise what we'd done before we got very far. Never done it since - it put the wind up us a bit. Not so much the cost to repair it but imagine the poor driver going down the motorway quite innocently when a rooflight smacks his windscreen? Doesn't bear thinking about. Just glad we didn't get that far.
