We are new to camping and fancy going to Newquay from Cleveland at the end of July, but have no idea where to go ?
Would like to do a couple of stops, one on the way down for say 2 days and then a 2 day stop on the way back up. Has anyone got any ideas, thanks
Cleveland plus 4 to 5 hours puts you in the Midlands . If you are planning to do M1 - M42 - M5 then may I suggest coming off the M42 at the A5 and heading for Kingsbury Water Park for a break . A good caravan site , good pub a short walk away and lots to do and see if you wish in the area.
From here you get back on the M42 at the A446 junction just a mile away . Three hours later you would be around Exeter where you most likely will head off on the A30 South for Newquay . Kennford is a pleasant and useful stop that will only leave you the slower trip down the A30 South to Newquay to do at an easy pace for a lunchtime arrival in Newquay area .

Theres a site a couple of miles from junct 11 of the m5 - think its called briarfields or something
From memory that site is Briarfields and is on the outskirts of Cheltenham less than a mile from the motorway and the park and ride is 300-400 yards from the site.
