On the last few sites we have been to, there hasn't been specific drainage points for the grey waste.  What do you do?  I did tip it down the drain where I got the fresh water from, but not sure this is appropriate.

its a question i always ask when i check-in as it seems that this is the one thing that is never mentioned.

i have had responses of chuck it in the hedge, pour it down the tap drain, and some even say if goes down the elsan point.

i think it depends where the paticular drain goes as it coudl be quite costly if its going in their sceptic tank that they have to pay to empty!

Well you only have three choices if there is no grey water disposal.

1. As you suggest, the fresh water drain

2. The loo or CDP

3. Up the hedge

It would be worth asking the 'custom' for the specific site.  Some years ago we went to an 'award winning' large, and relatively well known site in the Newton Abbott area who actively encouraged 3.  I don't know if they still do.

If it's where I have just came back from then noooooooo they don't, well certainly not where we were as each pitch has it's own grey waste drain :)

Woofers, the park I am thinking of is one of only four in the country who have won the David Bellamy award of special distinction twice, having restored a walled garden which they now use as an organic garden.  They now have a Barn Restaurant and bar with a tropical conservatory attached.  I think it may have changed hands since we went in the previous century.

This is a common problem at campsites; insufficient information for location of disposal points and/or no clear indication of EHU amperage.

Recently, at the les Ceriselles campsite in France, I was looking for the chemical disposal point, and another English camper told me where it was.  When I commented on the lack of clear directions, he told me that he had seen a German emptying his toilet waste into one of the washbasins.  YUK!  a sure sign, if any, that site owners should put up clear signage.

Bertie.

We once observed a furore on a campsite as a lynch mob of tent campers were about to to teach a caravanner the error of his ways for emptying his toilet into the flower beds .
I had to point out that it was in fact a waste water container he was emptying and not a toilet .

Nope it wasn't the one I stayed at then, although it does have one David Bellamy award, I know the one you mean now

Every site we have been on we have been told to throw the grey water in the hedge bottom.

Yep.  I reckon I know yours too - just down the hill.  When we stayed at yours we were on Daisy Bell, between Blackrock Copse and Bluebell Wood?????    I do love guessing games!!
