We're looking for a lightweight, quick-assembly porch awning and like the looks of the Starcamp Contempo and the Sport Plus.
Has anyone any recommendations? And does anyone know how the respective frame assemblies work? For instance, do either of these models have the poles fixed or tensioned to the side of the caravan or are they freestanding and separate? There are lots of pretty pictures on the Web, but virtually no information about the nuts and bolts.
Any advice/comments from users gratefully received!
Thanks - previously posted on Equipment forum, but no responses to dat.
I don't know the Starcamp awnings, I'm afraid. I'm a fan of the Kampa Fiesta - see gallery images and I can give you more details if you wish. (I know many will have heard it before ).
The Sports Plus would be the easy one to erect. We have used this 'type' of simple 3 pole for long stays as well as weekends. There are a few different makers if you shop around.
Thank you all for the advice. I'll do a little more research, but ease/speed of assembly is what we're after; the unit will only be used as a sun shelter/dog feeding station/welly store as we've lots of living room in the caravan, so a cheap and unsophisticated model is all we need.
Thanks again for all the food for thought.
