Has anyone out there stayed overnight at Happenden (M74), Hamilton (M74) or Stirling services. We are heading up from essex to Onich (Fort William) and will to break the journey overnight but are not planning to stop until 9-11pm so will be too late for sites, unless anyone knows of one with a good late arrivals area ( we don't really even want to unhitch!). Any opinions / suggestions gratefully received.

Have a look at this one 2 mins off the 74 I've stayed here and loved it. Ok theres a tiny bit of road noise and there is the train line but it never bothered us one bit. Owners are lovely and they stay on site so late arrival wouldn't be a problem.

Stirling services do not have an overnight area and the trucks just line along the road at the side of the car park it is possible that you wont find a space by the time you get there.
------------- Live every day as if it's your last but not at risk to others :-)
There is strathclyde park carvan park at hamilton but i would avoid that as i stay just up the road.Carry on to Striing and book in advance into witches craig, its 6mls from the services and is easy to find if you follow the signs for wallaces monument..im here now..and is easy to rejoin the motorway..Come off at the services.
We regularly do Dover to Glasgow in about 10 hours driving, so your trip would be what, about 12 hours driving?
You will need a stop, anything over 350 miles does need a stop. You must be already booked at Onich, so you have all that day. Leaving earlier the day before would be the answer, unless you have 2 drivers.
can't leave until 1pm due to work. Think Ive sorted it. Lettershaws farm near abington. Will take arrivals up til 10pm. Thanks to all for your suggestions.
