We have only ever been on one cc site before last october but didnt use our flag pole then.
Whenever we go away the kids love our flag pole and get so excited choosng which flags they want to put up but didnt no if flag poles were frowned on on cc sites.
Im going to take it i think and if anyone else has one up ill put ours up but wanted to know everyones opinion first! Were going to Willingcott at the end of the month
Ours is for the kids mainly they like it. Some put them up so their kids can find their pitch while on site but ours are to young to go off by themselves and just like looking at them. Just bit of fun really

Got the flag pole and different flags from ebay
That sounds a good idea, helps the kids feel safer I would think, you as well knowing they can find their way back ok.

What's the purpose of the flag poles and where do you get them and the flags from?
Somewhere between very little to no purpose. Some would have you think that it helps kids find their way back to the van - or even adults after visiting the bar. In reality, kids and adults alike can find their way back without this useful aid. I haven't got a flag pole - the wife and daughter are both against the idea. I want one, so yes, it's jealously and 'sour grapes!!
Ours is to make Bertha, our caravan, look a bit more 21st century. And so that people say "What a fantastic windsock" rather than "What a tatty caravan". I expect - the flagpole hasn't had its first outing yet!
David, if you ask nicely you shall have a go with our flagpole and the Staffs flag. I am the chair and founding member (and probably the only member, for that matter) of the Alcatraz Flag Foundation, after all.

We have used Sky Blue Leisure. When we ordered a duck and the colour was wrong ( shown different on web page ) they refunded the p&p even though i didnt ask for it.
