Booked for the caravan and motorhome show at the NEC in October and actually managed to get a premier inn the night before at £29 in solihull. I was quite pleased until I was badgered into buying tickets for Legally Blond - the musical for the friday evening.
My wife and daughter said that it was only fair as they were having to come to the caravan show.
Last year the quid pro quo was that I had to attend the horse of the year show. The caravan show is far cheaper than either of these events. I suppose I have to keep them happy. At least we bought our new van at last years show, which hadn't been planned. Looking at awnings at this years.
We plan to go on the 11th and are looking for our first caravan or folding camper....Is it cheaper to buy at the show or do people just use it as a chance to view and then order from a more local dealer ?
My wife (Beckyd710) is trying to get me to go having just upgraded from a tent to caravan, havening spent a small fortune kiting it out what else could need (or can fit in). Didn't need my arm twisted to much as it looks like a good show and free parking.
Brian they have pitches on site and some form of entertainment at night?
Nearly did a deal at the Caravan show in feb, its good to go and see the layout you want was suprised at the cost of a folding camper as opposed to a van

Thats the problem we are having. We both like the conway crusader or Pennine Quartz 6 folding campers but at 11k-12k they are nearly the same price as the Bailey Orion caravan. OH likes the caravan for its extra luxury with its own shower, microwave, etc and as its about £1k more says she isn't convinced on a FC as value for money as we can't use it in the cooler months! The problem with the caravan though is it will cost me £500 a year to store it, where as a FC will go in the garage. We are intending to go to the show and have a good look to finally make our mind up.......well thats the plan anyway

The caravan club charge £27.50 per night. As the premier inn is only £29 then it is cheaper to take my renault clio. We are going to a show in Birmingham on the Friday night so just need a bed for the night. If we were going for longer I would definitely take the van.
Personally if you can afford the storage fees, for the small price difference it would go for the caravan as it can be used all year round. Also with a folding camper, if its wet when packing up you have still got all that wet canvas
