We cant get into Rookesbury CC site for an overnight before our morning ferry to France but Morn Hill near Winchester has space. Would we be able to leave the site at 7am or is this just too early? We're new to caravans and havent stayed on any CC sites yet. In France some sites have barriers down at night preventing anyone exiting and I wondered if this happens at CC sites too. I have read the site info and cant find anything about exit times.

You will have a card for the barrier so open the barier with the card, drive through and park up.  There will probably be a box or letter box to put the keys through.  I sometimes pop out early for a paper and I can't remember not being able to drive out.

I think you can go when you want as long as you have a card for the barrier or whatever they use, I've seen vans turn up at 10 at night on overnight stops and if I've got up at 6 the next morning, they have gone, never heard them go either.

think I will ring the site tommorrow and see what they say. Just read the reviews for Morn Hill, very mixed but all we want is somewhere to sleep for the night. A couple of people mention you have to leave your membership card at reception in exchange for a barrier card so this may be a problem with needing to leave by 7am.

They do have barriers at Morn Hill but I can't remember how they are operated or what time restrictions. I am sure a phone call directly to the site would get the answer for you. They do have a quite large car park which you might be able to stay on but there might not be electrics available.

Hi savanne1, I am a member of the CC,and have never had to leave my membership card at any site, on some site they give you a tag( wood with pitch Number on it) and the key card for barrier, all you do is go out the site barrier, and post key card and tab(if you get one) in the box or the letter box of office, You can leave the site at 4am if you wished( mind and be as quiet as possible though)
